Engineering Manager – Support Experience

About the role

A founding-style engineering manager role leading a new team within Stripe's Support Experience organisation. The team builds a greenfield support product for Stripe's largest and most complex users, and improves internal support tooling. The work involves partnering with product, design and operational teams, including generative AI-based support experiences.

What you'll do

• Hire, lead and mentor a team of engineers
• Set the technical vision and roadmap with Product and Design
• Drive projects from planning through to delivery
• Balance short- and long-term roadmap tradeoffs
• Integrate internal tooling into differentiated support workflows
• Improve engineering standards, tooling and processes

What you'll need

• 3+ years managing teams building full-stack web applications at scale
• 10+ years overall industry experience
• Track record of recruiting and building strong teams
• User empathy and customer-centric problem solving
• Clear written and in-person communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience building a new team or product from an early stage
• Experience with React and Ruby full-stack development
• Experience with agentic LLM solutions for customer support or workflow automation
