These terms apply to everyone using JobsNearMe.ie. Part B has extra terms for employers. JobsNearMe.ie is run by Jobs Near Me IE, 17 Dame St, Dublin 2, Ireland (“we”). Contact: info@jobsnearme.ie.
Part A – Everyone
1. What we are
JobsNearMe.ie is a job advertising website. We publish job adverts and pass applications from job seekers to employers. We are not an employment agency: we don’t choose candidates, we don’t act for job seekers or employers in hiring decisions, and job seekers never pay us anything.
2. Job adverts
Employers are responsible for their adverts. Some adverts come from employers’ careers pages or partner job sites; for those, you apply on the other site and its terms apply. We check adverts but can’t guarantee every detail is correct. Never pay anyone to get a job, and report any advert that asks you to.
3. Applying
Applications must be your own, truthful and about the job. Each application is confirmed with a code sent to your email and checked automatically for spam and fraud before it’s sent to the employer. We may block applications that are spam, fraudulent or abusive. If you think yours was blocked by mistake, email us and a person will review it.
4. Reporting a job
Use “Report this job” on any advert you think is illegal, a scam, discriminatory or wrong. We review reports promptly and act on them.
5. Using the site fairly
Don’t scrape the site in bulk, try to break its security, post anything illegal, or use it to contact people for anything other than the job in question.
6. Our liability
The site is provided as it is. We aren’t responsible for employers’ or job seekers’ actions, or for hiring decisions. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer.
Part B – Employers
7. Your account
You sign in with your work email and a one-time code. You’re responsible for everything posted from your account. Free accounts can post 1 free job every 30 days (see section 12).
8. Rules for adverts
Every advert must be for a real, current job and must:
- clearly say what the job is, where it is, and include the main details our form asks for;
- comply with Irish law, including employment equality law – no requirements or preferences based on age, gender, civil or family status, sexual orientation, religion, disability, race or nationality, or membership of the Traveller community, unless legally allowed;
- pay at least the national minimum wage where it applies;
- never ask applicants for money (fees, deposits, training or kit costs), bank details, ID documents or passwords before a genuine job offer;
- not be a business opportunity, commission-only or multi-level marketing scheme, course for sale, or adult or illegal work.
9. How we check adverts
Every advert is checked before it’s published: the main details must be present, then fixed rules and an AI model look for scams, phishing, spam, inappropriate content and discriminatory wording. Adverts that pass go live straight away. If yours needs a change, we’ll tell you exactly what to change. If we can’t publish it, or later remove it, we’ll email you a statement of reasons – what we decided, why, the rule it breaks, whether automated means were used – and how to ask for a review.
10. Asking for a review
You can ask for a person to review any decision about your advert for 6 months afterwards, free of charge, from your dashboard or by replying to our email. We’ll reply within 2 working days. Under the EU Digital Services Act you can also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body or go to court. If you post clearly illegal or fraudulent adverts repeatedly, we may suspend your account.
11. Applicants’ personal data
When we send you an application you become a separate data controller for it. Use it only to consider the person for the job, keep it secure, delete it when you no longer need it, and don’t add applicants to marketing lists.
12. Free posts, Boost and Premium
- Free posts. Each business can post 1 free job every 30 days, counted from the day the free job goes live. A free job stays open for 14 days or until it has 10 applicants, whichever comes first. Closing a free job early does not reset the 30 days, but Boosting it does, because it is then a paid job. The limit applies to the business, so posting from a different email address does not give another free job. We may block a free post that is a near copy of one you posted in the last 30 days.
- Boost and Premium are one-off purchases for one job, paid by card through Stripe when you buy. Nothing is charged later. The price, and what’s included, are shown on our employers page and in your dashboard when you buy, and that price applies. A Boost or Premium runs for 30 days from when the job is live and has no applicant limit.
- Facebook and Instagram ads. Where a purchase includes an ad, we create it automatically from our Meta ad account, shown to people around the job’s location for the number of days stated. Meta reviews every ad. If Meta doesn’t approve it or it can’t start, we make it right automatically: an ad bought on its own is refunded; for an ad included in a Boost or Premium paid by card, we refund the ad part of the price (otherwise we add a free Boost credit); an ad from a plan goes back into your plan’s allowance.
- Our promise. If a Boosted or Premium job that takes applications on JobsNearMe.ie gets fewer than 5 applications in its first 14 days, we add a free Boost credit to your account automatically. Applications count when the applicant has confirmed their email; spam, duplicates and applications from you or your colleagues don’t count. One such credit per business per month, and a Boost bought with one doesn’t earn another. A free Boost credit puts a job at the top of local searches and job-alert emails for 30 days; it doesn’t include a Facebook or Instagram ad. We never promise that you’ll hire.
- Credits and packs. Boost credits (from a pack or our promise) can be used on any of your jobs and expire 12 months after they were added. They have no cash value.
- Refunds. If something goes wrong with your first purchase, email us within 30 days and we’ll refund it. Otherwise purchases aren’t refundable once the Boost has started, except as above.
13. Monthly plans
- Plans are subscriptions for a number of live jobs, all featured, plus a monthly allowance of Facebook and Instagram ads, as described on our employers page. They are charged by card monthly in advance, through Stripe, until you cancel.
- You can cancel any time from your dashboard. The plan then runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for and nothing more is charged. Unused ads don’t carry over to the next month.
- Plans are for one business. Recruitment agencies use the Agency plans. Founding-employer prices apply for the period stated when you sign up and then return to the normal price.
- If a monthly payment fails, Stripe will retry it; if it still fails, the plan ends and your jobs stay live until they expire.
14. Prices, VAT and invoices
Prices are in euro and include any VAT that applies. You can download receipts from the emails Stripe sends you. These are business services, so consumer cooling-off rights don’t apply.
15. Ending
You can close your jobs at any time from your dashboard, and ask us to delete your account by email. A plan you cancel runs to the end of the month you have paid for. We may close accounts that break these terms.
16. Liability for employers
We aren’t liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or the conduct or suitability of applicants. Our total liability to an employer in any 12 months is limited to the amount the employer paid us in that period. This doesn’t limit liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Part C – General
These terms are governed by Irish law and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If we change them we’ll update the date above and tell registered employers about important changes by email; changes don’t affect a Boost or plan month you have already paid for.
